conan the barbarian online 2011

If a list of films from Hollywood in recent years has taught us anything, is that the obsession with remaking the classic features usually all or nothing gamble. In most cases, the film manages to capture one of the original fans and new audiences in the same way, or you can lose both the public completely.

In principle, each of the "Star Trek", there is also a "Land of the Lost."

So what is the reboot of Conan the Barbarian Marcus Nispel to stay?

Well, then, is not exactly a flawless victory, restart the screen by Robert E. Howard famous barbarian reaches exactly what to do: provide an introduction to weight the main character to new audiences, while ensuring long-term fans is always the sword swing, pec-flexing, the murderer of blood thirst, who came see. Ultimately, however, the film spends much time trying to get the two hearings that sometimes feels a little bipolar, it does a disservice to what is otherwise a nice movie.

However, it is much greater than the evil when it comes to celebrate the return of the Cimmerians, and according to what is expected in the movie, you should be able to find something to love Conan has taken Nispel.

Restart the beast

First, among the achievements of Conan the Barbarian is the performance of Jason Momoa lead, offering up thinner, faster, more spiritual version of Conan is more like the original Howard stories of the brutal version of the character made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Unlike its predecessor, Jason Momoa embodies both the barbarian and the thief of the aspects of the character, and much more in common with literary source material that some viewers may be realized.

However, the difference between Momo and versions of Schwarzenegger in Conan, that probably will restart most of the problems, too.

Although anyone who has read the original Howard Conan stories, it's hard not to go in the film is waiting - and perhaps to see someone do Momoa "What is the best in life?" The fact that this exchange does not occur, and there is little (if any) nods to mythology developed in the previous films, it manages to be both positive and negative Conan the Barbarian. Nispel has restarted Conan wants to highlight films that came before and honor the original spirit of the character, but one can not help but wonder if the audience for something like a new scene for the stage version of the 1981 film will be a little confused.

However, assuming Momoa has reinvented the character is not the only film worth praise.

While the movie has some trouble deciding whether to be a hard-R movie or something a little softer, it is clear that Nispel Conan and his team made an effort to embrace the barbarism of the Middle Hyboria. A character is described as "born in the battlefield," Conan is introduced into the attack mode during the first moments of the film, and all I get bloodier from there. In one particular scene, a young Conan is ambushed by some exploration to an enemy tribe while running through the forest, and instead of fleeing like the other kids, we proceed to slaughter enemy combatants with a shudder brutal abandonment induction. He then returned to the village to cut off the heads of their enemies, dropped to the ground in front of a stunned crowd.

It is clear that the adults of the village (including Conan's father) did not know what to do with Conan in the scene above, and Momoa have grown up version of the character manages to get the same response from many people that he meets. Unlike its predecessor muscle-brain, it is difficult to get a read on this iteration of Conan, and serves the character well.

Back to books

Conan Reboot Nispel is also a clear nod to the character of adventure literature. Along with a series of recommendations for collecting Howard novels, is also a fair share of monsters in the film, is part of the history of Cimmerian - especially in the sprawling deep Dweller, which can be seen in some of the first films trailer. By momo fight a creature is a wonderful example of the film pays homage to the roots of the character, and at the same time, to win new audiences with a scene ripe for action.
A couple of rough edges

This does not mean that Conan the Barbarian wins the battle on all fronts, however. As I mentioned a couple of times already, the film has its share of identity. For example, despite all the posturing Momoa is fierce and reminders that Conan is primarily a barbarian who is still an obvious attempt to play up the romantic part of the relationship with Tamara Conan, the female lead is played by Rachel Nichols . These two themes rarely play well together in the film, and the switch between recurrent "angry Conan" and "Conan in Love" makes the character seem a bit schizophrenic at a time.

Less devastating but still not among the positive elements in the film are few roles without interest for Stephen Long and Ron Perlman, who both seem to be obvious casting calls for movies like Conan the Barbarian. Unfortunately, the two actors manage to be a bit forgettable as the villain of the film, Zym Khalar, and the father of Conan, Corin, respectively. On the other hand, Rose McGowan is a terrifying villain Khalar Zym Marique girl, a witch with a razor and nail fashion sense that is equal parts creepy and sexy (which became a kind of short for her, really ).

Conan the Barbarian is also continuing the trend to be presented in 3-D (via post-conversion), but does not show the actual use of the 3D format. While 3D does not detract from the film in any way, it does not add anything to the experience, except for a few more dollars on the ticket.

Conclusion

All in all, Conan the Barbarian is fun to re-sign, which can overcome the problems that afflict so many other born-again. Momo is not only a worthy successor to the throne of the Cimmerian, but the argument is that he is still better than his predecessors to bring the vision of Conan creator of life on the big screen. The film is not without flaws, however, and I hope it can be very ticket sales, because it is exactly the kind of film is able to continue spawning, which is also better than the original.
